Facing Secrets If you want sobriety more than anything else, you must expose childhood secrets to the light. It will be painful, but when when it is over, you immediately begin healing. This is the only way to permanent sobriety. It is a simple process. Tell someone. Or recite what happened out out loud. Give your wounded inner child a voice and approval to speak. Yes, facing the past openly is excruciating. You actually relive the experience. But this time you are allowed to vent your rage, express all the human emotions you were forced to suppress, and give yourself permission to tell your secret. Often only one child in the family is targeted for abuse which labels you the "black sheep" early in life. It also makes sharing your pain with family members impossible. It is especially difficult when a parent or sibling is your abuser. This happens far more frequently than society would like to admit. Explore what secrets other kids have experienced. You are not alone. http://www.privatefamilymatter.com
